What audience do you want to reach with virtual cinema?

Possible choices:

• Schools

Organisationally and logistically, getting school classes to the cinema can be quite a challenge. Virtual cinema allows flexible scheduling of screenings and can allow the cinema to come to the classroom instead. For example: IDFA has its own educational film collection, Docschool Online, where more than hundred films are freely available online for educational purposes. You can also develop educational programmes. For films from the collections of IDFA, IFFR, NFF, Eye and Cinekid, for instance, the Dutch Netwerk Filmeducatie developed online educational programmes for every educational level.

• People with disabilities

People with an auditory, visual or physical disability, who cannot easily find their way to the physical cinema and for whom that way is not always accessible, can still take advantage of your offer thanks to virtual cinema. Think of films with audio descriptions for people with visual impairments.

• A wider region

Distances do not matter: virtual cinema opens its doors to visitors from all over the Netherlands, and possibly worldwide.

• Existing audience

With deeper content and an expanded programme, you are doing your existing audience a big favor in any case. Research shows that a large part of the online audience consists of people who already visit the physical location.
